Sermon: The Amazing Ministry of Peter and John

Introduction

The healing of a crippled beggar at the gate called “The Beautiful Gate” leading to the Temple is the first healing miracle recorded in the book of Acts. The disciples had performed miracles before, but this was also the first miracle they performed after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. There are five important principles we can draw from this chapter. If you have your bibles, please turn with me to Acts 3:1-26. [A sermon preached by Dr. Arnold Lastinger. Used with permission.]

Sermon: It’s all about Relationships

A photo of two people sitting under a tree during the night.

Introduction

If you were to boil the Christian life down into one word what would that word be? At the risk of being too simplistic, I submit that the word would be “Relationships”. When Jesus was asked the most important commandment, He talked about one’s relationship with God the Father. He pointedly indicated that one’s relationship with his fellow man is a close second. It is a safe assumption then that relationships are at the core of Christian living. Today, I want us to look at some considerations about our relationships. [A sermon by Dr. Arnold Lastinger. Sermon: How to wait for God’s appointed time?

Introduction

For this particular sermon, I have chosen the example of a mother pregnant with a Baby. A baby is not born overnight. Once conceived a baby takes at least ten months before being formed into the fullness and ready to see the light of this world. In the meantime, the mother has to wait patiently and take great care of her unborn, until the time appointed for the birth will come to pass. The bible says that God also has an appointed time for everything.

Sermon: All about Praying in the Spirit

Introduction

Praying in the Spirit is mentioned three times in scripture. (1) What should I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind. I will sing praises with my spirit, but I will also sing praises with my mind.  (1 Corinthians 14:15, NET) (2).With every prayer and petition, pray at all times in the Spirit, and to this end be alert, with all perseverance and requests for all the saints.  (Ephesians 6:18, NET) (3) But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith, by praying in the Holy Spirit, (Jude 1:20, NET) Some common questions related to this topic are:

Sermon: Faithfulness is the Key to God’s Blessings

A greeting card with the greeting "Blessings" printed on it.

Introduction

Although precious, faithfulness is a rare virtue today. Perhaps in the church also. The Bible has many references to it. But Proverbs 28:20, in particular, says that faithfulness is the key to God’s blessings.

There are two types of blessings in general. The first kind is known as the common blessings such as rain, sunlight, etc. One doesn’t have to be a faithful child of God to receive these. The second kind is known as the unique blessings which include both spiritual and material riches but are available only to God’s children.

In today’s sermon, we are going to look at six areas of life where people are most unfaithful and what the Bible says about it. Be faithful to God in these areas, and you will unlock his blessings. [Image Credit: Virginia L.]
